Wedding Inspiration – Madame Shou Shou goes to Mani
This styled shoot combined all the elements of Mani in a single greek themed wedding. Mani is located in the Southern part of Greece. The place is known for 3 things: the long lasted tradition, the rebellious but kind people, and the local products that are well known all over the world! The outcome was a blend of modern ideas with the tradition of a greek themed wedding and the roots of this land. The concept was originally created from products of Mani. Using pomegranate, the symbol of well being and fertility. A local fruit that exists in every garden of Mani, fresh & juicy. On a pomegranate each guest could find his/her name for the seating plan. After all, fresh pomegranate was part of the welcome basket for all guests, along with raki, local alcohol drink, and an olive bar soap. The invitation was traditional using cross stitch pattern, representing golden birds. This folklore sign of wealth and freedom was embroidered on a small scarf. Always to be in the pocket of the guests, as a reminder of this special day. This local pattern was followed also for the wedding favor, placed on the wedding table for all. To take it home along with the happy moments of the wedding. The decoration was rich and red. Full of passion with a tone of exaggeration. Like the temper of the local citizens of Mani. All shades of red flowers covered the wedding table with so many colors to represent joy and happiness. This is the best day of the couple and nature offers the brightest colors to celebrate. The landscape, Mani itself. The unique environment of stone and wood in architecture. The squared buildings, the sold arches, the secret yards. Dominated by the background of the high mountains and the endless deep blue of the Greek sea. A desert table was set up with all the local sweets and delights. Naked cakes, cake pops, cup cakes mixed with traditional sweets. All originated from old recipes carried over from grandmother to daughter. The couple visited special places to show the amazing energy of Mani. The old grocery shop, out in the fields with the olive trees, the traditional fishing boat.
