Lovely wedding overlooking the caldera

I know, I have praised Santorini too much on my website. Being honest with you, every single time that I visit this bright Greek island I am excited to photograph it. Every time! The washed out houses and the churches with the blue domes, the colorful bougainvillea flowers just make for the best wedding photography background! This couple’s story begins in the UK. Lisa & Steve had visited Santorini before and fell in love with the island. They decided to have their lovely wedding in Santorini overlooking the caldera and pick the Santo Winery wedding venue. When we talked about the timeline together, there was a difficulty to have pictures at the best time of the day as the ceremony would be a bit late. Light is so important to photography and making sure we utilize the best for every occasion is one of my priorities. We talked a lot with Lisa & Steve how could we have the best photos in Santorini and we came up with the idea to have a first look. By the way, first looks are so emotional. Every time I have documented a first look, I always have nice emotional images and it strengthens the connection between the couple. It helps them to relax and enjoy the rest of the day! This amazing duo got really emotional and I can’t describe how happy I am to witness real love like that! What was an additional element of pure love and tears of joy, was the couple’s idea to exchange their vows privately.

After the ceremony in Santo wines, the sky took a unique color that you rarely see. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to shoot some frames of course. The wedding reception was held in Theros Wave Bar where the couple and their guests had fun partying until late. Make sure to check out the couple’s engagement session too!

“Where do I begin?! Elias is an absolutely incredible and talented photographer and a wonderful person to go with it. My husband and I found choosing him as our wedding photographer to be the easiest decision we made. After looking at his work online we knew he would take the kind of photos we wanted, and capture those ‘moments’.
