Villa Cimbrone, Amalfi Coast

Villa Cimbrone in the Amalfi Coast is one of the best wedding venues in Italy. It is situated in Ravello, one of the most picturesque villages in all of Amalfi. What I particularly love as a wedding photographer in Villa Cimbrone, is its huge versatility, offering endless photographic opportunities. The famous Villa Cimbrone is always on the list of the most popular venues for weddings in Italy. One of the most common setups you will see for a wedding in Villa Cimbrone is for the ceremony to take place at the tea room, the reception at the crypt and you can’t go wrong with couple’s portraits at the infinity terrace or as the Italians prefer to call it the Belvedere Terrace, where the sky and the sea blend together in one. For our editorial, we wanted to present you with fresh ideas for a wedding in Villa Cimbrone. Apart from the bold floral installation, we placed the reception at a spot that never has been done before! Ideal for a micro wedding, having your dinner under the stars of the sky and the historical building of Villa Cimbrone in the background, is a dream! Villa Cimbrone is renowned mostly for black tie, luxury weddings, so we wanted to follow this concept, by having a long wedding dress with a tail and sleeves.

Planning your destination wedding in Amalfi? Having a boat cruise around the famous places, like Positano and Capri is a must. This way you will get to enjoy them the best and avoid driving around narrow streets and looking for parking. The Amalfi Coast is such a scenic place, that I advise you if you’re planning your wedding in Italy, to definitely add it in your list for your honeymoon. We wouldn’t miss the opportunity of adding some sea-inspired beauty in our editorial. I am always excited to use my drone photography given the chance. Having a bird’s eye view helps you have a better appreciation of the surroundings.

To make this editorial a complete inspiration for a real wedding in the Amalfi Coast, we incorporated some rehearsal dinner ideas. After all, if you are planning on getting married in the Amalfi Coast, a 3-day wedding is the most common practice to enjoy the beauties this place has to offer. The concept was to deviate from the wedding day colors to show you that you can play around with colors and styling and still have a cohesive and beautiful look.

One thing I would also like to share with you at this point as a destination wedding photographer, is that when you make your shortlist of photographers to decide who you’re going to book, the right question to ask is ‘Would you be excited to photograph our wedding in Villa Cimbrone?’ rather than ‘Have you worked in Villa Cimbrone before?’. The difference is huge! Don’t worry about if a photographer hasn’t worked there before, it’s more important that they are excited to work there. As a destination wedding photographer myself, I take the time to visit the venues that I haven’t worked before, in the off-season, check out the light (there are apps to check the light in July, even if you visit in November), familiarize myself with the location and explore all the good spots. Besides, I love doing my prep work before even visiting a place, so I know what to look for and to expect.

Hope this wedding editorial will offer you lots of decoration ideas to plan your dream wedding in Italy and especially if you are looking to book Villa Cimbrone! The Amalfi Coast holds a very special place in my heart and I’m always excited to work there.
